Shaily is a renowned Mithila artist celebrated for her intricate and vibrant artwork that blends traditional techniques with contemporary themes. Drawing inspiration from folklore, mythology, and daily life, she uses natural pigments and traditional tools to create captivating pieces that preserve and evolve the rich heritage of Bihar, India. Her work has been exhibited at the US Consulate, UN Headquarters, and various art festivals. Passionate about cultural storytelling, Shaily offers unique art pieces and collaborations, bringing the enchantment of Mithila tradition to life. 

Artist  Statement

 Rooted in the timeless traditions of Indian folk art, my work celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Mithila, Sohrai, Khovar, Paitkar, and other regional styles. Each piece is a conversation with these ancient forms, blending their intricate symbolism and vibrant storytelling with contemporary sensibilities. I seek to preserve and reinterpret these traditions, honoring their origins while exploring how they can resonate with modern audiences. Through my art, I aim to bridge the past and present, offering a visual narrative that connects viewers to both the cultural richness of my roots and the evolving nature of art today.

Artist Bio:

Anamika Sinha is a self-taught artist whose passion for art began in childhood and was reignited after two decades devoted to family life. Working primarily in acrylics, she explores themes of nature, divinity, cultural identity, and mandalas, blending figurative and symbolic expression with contemporary contexts. Her portfolio spans portraits of people, animals, deities, landscapes, and intricate mandalas, each created as a meditative process capturing both form and spirit. Anamika has exhibited across New Jersey, including Bridgewater Public Library, East Brunswick Public Library, and Novartis Gallery. Her work reflects harmony, interconnectedness, and the dialogue between tradition and modernity.  

Artist  Statement

My art is my pathway to connect with my inner self. Each finished piece, and even the process of creation, brings me immense joy and peace. I enjoy the challenge of achieving likeness in portraits, while landscapes allow me to embrace the beauty of nature. Painting deities connects me to a higher power, and mandalas serve as my meditation. I began this journey at a time when I was losing myself in the weight of responsibilities—art became my rescue, my companion, and my way to rediscover balance, harmony, and a deeper sense of self.
