HEA LGBTQ+ Alliance

The HEA LGBTQ+ Alliance is a committee of the Hillsborough Education Association dedicated to advocating for, educating, and supporting LGBTQ+ students, educators, and families throughout the Hillsborough community. Formed to foster connection, inclusion, and visibility, the Alliance works to create welcoming spaces where individuals can build relationships, share experiences, and access support.

Through a variety of programs and community events held throughout the year, the Alliance promotes awareness, affirmation, and understanding of LGBTQ+ experiences. Their initiatives include student and educator engagement programs, community-building events, mental health awareness outreach, and collaborations with local organizations to strengthen support networks across Hillsborough.

The Alliance also works alongside school leaders, community partners, and advocacy organizations to encourage inclusive practices and create environments where all students and staff feel respected, valued, and empowered.
